Roger a/k/a Dad has been seeding transformational companies for almost 20 years. After spending the first phase of his career rising to the top of Wall Street in derivatives and trading and five years building a premier venture portfolio, he founded the generationally successful seed stage venture firm IA Ventures in 2009.
There, Roger was the first institutional money in future decacorns The Trade Desk and Wise, while his partners at IA invested in category defining companies including Datadog, Digital Ocean and Komodo Health (among other gems).
A three-time member of the Forbes Midas List, Roger decided to change his life and focus on investing family money in sports franchises, sports-related technologies and web3 infrastructure and applications - with his sons Andrew and Ethan. This was the motivation for founding Eberg Capital.
One other thing must be said - Roger is a Michigan freak. Born in Oak Park, Roger followed his older sister Ellen to Ann Arbor, met his wife, best friend and fellow Wolverine Carin at Rick’s, and helped create a family “situation” that led to Andrew and Ethan turning down top academic D-III baseball offers to become Wolverines of their own volition (lol).
